Oporto Sports client and Barrow head coach Stephen Clemence has been nominated for the League Two Manager of the Month award for August.
Clemence joined The Bluebirds in May, and during August, the club won three and lost one of their league games. In addition, they enjoyed success in the League Cup, knocking Port Vale and Derby County out of the competition, to set up a third round tie against Premier League Chelsea later this month.
The EFL quote endorsing Clemence’s work reads as follows: “While he has introduced a free-flowing style that is more appealing on the eye, Clemence has been shrewd enough to trust the solid Barrow defence already in place. The result was nine points from four games and three clean sheets.”
Also nominated are Mark Bonner (Gillingham), Johnnie Jackson (AFC Wimbledon) and Mat Sadler (Walsall).
