Oporto Sports client Ryan Garry has guided his England U17s side to FIFA World Cup qualification, following a 4-2 win over Switzerland in yesterday’s (Tuesday) play-off game.
Having won Group D at the UEFA Euro U17s Championships with two wins and a draw, Garry’s side lost their quarter-final against holders, France, to a heart-breaking late penalty. France will face Germany in the final on Friday evening.
As one of the two beaten quarter-finalists with the best group stage records, England claimed Europe’s fifth place at the 2023 FIFA U17s World Cup, held from 10 November to 2 December, joining France, Germany, Poland and Spain in the tournament.
